Pine Cone Wreaths

Picture
We have beautiful pine cone wreaths made from Eastern White Pine cones available as all natural brown or colored with spray paint. Colored wreaths can be customized to your specification for a holiday, special occasion, or sports team. The pine cones are processed as described below and then spray painted with 3-4 coats of spray paint. Each pine cone is individually wired onto the wire wreath frame. We can make a wreath on a 12 or 18 inch frame which results in a wreath of approximately 16-18 or 22-24 inches in diameter. Please contact me if you have questions about a custom order.

Pine Cones

Two Ponds Farm has a large variety of real, all natural pine cones available. Each pine cone is collected by hand, heated to eliminate bugs and excessive sap and then cleaned to remove pine needles and seeds (although some needles, seeds, and sap may remain). The Black Spruce are the smallest pine cones I offer, they are round, and range from less than an inch to 1.5 inches in length.  I also offer Larch pine cones were are similar in size to the Black Spruce cones but these cones are a little more "raggedy." White spruce cones range from one to three inches and are more elongated. The red pine cones are more rounded and range from 1.5 to 2.5 inches and have a similar diameter. Blue spruce cones are also available and range from 2-4 inches in length and are a little "raggedy" in appearance as well. The Eastern White Pine cones and the Norway spruce cones are the largest I offer. Eastern white pine cones range in size from 2 to 6 inches in length and the Norway spruce are generally 4 to 6 inches. Please visit my Etsy site where I have separated the Black Spruce, White Spruce, and Eastern White Pine cones further by size so you can purchase the correct size for your project. I also offer bleached pine cones which are a beautiful driftwood color. If you are unsure of the correct pine cone for your project or desire discount pricing for large purchases please feel free to contact me. I also offer pine cone scales, either natural or scented, which can be used as potpourri, plant mulch, or for crafting projects.

White Birch Decor

We have a number of white birch items available including tea light and candle holders as well as white birch logs for fireplace decor. We collect the white birch logs from dying trees, never healthy. These trees have a short life span so it is relatively easy to find ones that need replaced.  We also plant new white birch trees every spring in order to maintain the population on our land. After the wood is collected it is allowed to dry in our barn and then all items are heat-treated to further dry out the wood and kill any insects. Our tea lights are drilled with a 1 and 5/8 inch Forstner bit to easily allow 1 and 1/2 inch tea lights to fit. We have found that some tea lights are larger than others which prevents them from fitting properly if a 1 and 1/2 inch Forstner bit is used. Our votive candle holders will also hold a 1 and 1/2 inch tea light if you prefer.

Vintage Items

We have many vintage items now available including an American Family Scale from the 1950s, graduated apothecary glasses likely from the 1960s that make great beer glasses, a variety of vintage medicine bottles from the 1950s or earlier, other vintage bottles, and an old tractor seat that can be turned into beautiful bar stools or chairs.

Dried Flowers and Herbs

We have recently added many dried flowers and herbs. Some are all natural wild-flowers collected from our land including Goldenrod, Tansy, Daisies, Yarrow, and Black-Eyed Susan. Other flowers are ones I purchase and cultivate including white Astilbe (other colors coming next summer), Catnip, Bachelor's Buttons (cornflower), Nigella (coming soon) Globe amaranth (coming soon), and hopefully lots more next year! All of the flowers are cultivated under fungicide-, pesticide-, and herbicide-free conditions. The flowers are collected by hand and dried hanging upside down in the attic of our garage (which is very clean and pest free!). Please contact me for custom orders.
